I am proud to announce the release of HTCClay's newest addition to his popular FastTest series, version 3.1-RH.

I had a quick talk with clay about this build, details below

• Custom themed & BlackBar (By HTCClay, of course )
• Based off SuperD 1.10.2 (including the kernel)
• Includes 180 degree orientation hack
• Uses new "legal" file flashing scheme (similar to CyanogenMod and SuperD) - MUST flash over FT 3.0.2
• Includes themed @anderwebs's Launcher2 port
• Only available in RHack - this should be obvious from the title, but

Went back to Super D base.
3.0 is stable and stupid fast!
I recommend a wipe if coming from 2.9...

I just registered for this Forum so please excuse a stupid question. Does my G1 have to be rooted to install a better OS than 1.6 ? Been on 1.6 for too long. Must be something better... Is there any Rom or update we can put on a non rooted g1 ? Thanks

I've been trying to get this ROM working all morning and failing.
Maybe it's related to me not having a SIM card in my test phone but I've never had this problem before.
I can get through the initial boot and skip all the sign in prompts so I can turn on WiFi and do the setup using WiFi.
Once I do this and try to sign in to Google, I get lots and lots of FC's.
I've tried everything I can think of and nothing will work.
Also, when I pulled up the menu, I didn't have the Market program.
Anyone else having issues or is it just related to my missing SIM card?

Well, I installed my SIM card cos I hate being defeated...!
Went through the whole flash again with a clean wipe.
Still no luck. FC's everywhere.
Can't get to the home screen right now.
acore is FC'ing in a loop.

Gonna try the No RAM Hack version and see what happens.

hey simon, dont know if you figured it out yet, but i had massive issues installing 2.9 as well. i was running clay's first version of 2.8 and he said that wont work. you need to install 2.9 over cyans 4.2.15 or a newer ft2.8 (like the gamer edition, WgFull) and it should work. i installed 2.9 over the 2.8WGFull and it worked perfectly.

Your G1 has to be rooted to install ANY ROMs that isn't official. The official ROMs are delivered Over The Air (OTA) and it will come to you. With rooting, you are able to install whatever ROMs you wish. Htcclay's ROM is still 1.6, the 2.X+ ROMs are OpenEclair (and other various ones out there).

Flashed this ROM from 3.0, no problems with it so far. Love the new speeds and the addition of the Email app.

Especially now that he is making significant changes to the build, and not just theming SuperD, he really needs to start doing a changelog (and prior to the release) so we know what we are getting ourselves into.....

Thats just my opinion, every other dev does changelogs, sometimes long before the build is released

Don't have much luck with 3.0.3 - even when I wipe.
I've tried to use it just writing over 3.0.2 and it worked, but was buggy.
Wiping didn't get me anywhere - trying to sign in - crash.
Setting up APN OK -
Loggin into google - crash every time, even with APN configured.
I think it needs some work, but pretty fast on 3.0.2
