for those stating that the DL is only 4KB, that's because you are d/ling it from your phone browser. I've found it doesn't like 4shared and will only download a 4KB file.
Just grab it from a PC.

Also, for those having issues with your phone mounting to your PC.
You will need to go to Settings>About Phone>USB Settings.
It looks like Kies is enabled by default. You will need to change that to Mass Storage. This will give a popup stating USB Debugging has been turned off.
To turn it back on, hit the back button, go to Applications>Development and check USB Debugging.

This will now load the correct drivers for it to mount.
I did notice that it now installs a CDRom... dont know what this is. Probably something to do with the i9000 drivers.

I found the issue with GPS. JP3 is missing the main GPS config files. There should be a /data/gps/secgps.conf and /data/HALGPS_conf.cfg

secgps.conf is what controls the GPS options. (port, Start Mode, stuff like that)

Flashing the JI2 files will put these on the phone, and GPS will then start to work. (See attached.)

GPS still isn't starting up for me. I am on a captivate but I assume it shouldn't make a difference.

Yeah, I've been finding it's a hit or miss. It works for some, and not others. I think Eugene tried it as well, and it doesn't work for him, however, several people on XDA tried it, and it works. Gonna have to dive a little deeper.

Wow Im getting a big speed increase in download times. I usually get between 2-4mbps down and about 600k upload but after 4 tests Ive been getting between 3.5-5.9mbps down and a little lower upload speed around 250k.

I just flashed R3 and noticed the following issues:

certain paid apps will not install (fruit ninja, minisquadron, backbreaker)

Otherwise the ROM seems to work great! Thanks Eugene!

Just a little thing but with the new ROM there is no way to just put the phone on vibrate? I can either turn the ringer volume up or down or put it on silent. I can select that it always vibrates in the call settings but I can't just put the phone on vibrate if I don't want it to ring.

If you actually go into menu > settings > sounds > vibrate... You can select options in there to vibrate on silent. then whenever the phone i on silent it will vibrate for you. Hope that helps.
