Default "Error 502 - Bad Request" accessing AndroidSPIN

People have started reporting that they are receiving 502 errors trying to get to http://www.androidspin.com and http://www.phandroid.com from T-Mobile connected devices. These are the only web sites I've noticed but I'm 99% sure there are others that will be affected.

The full message I receive on my STOCK UNROOTED G1 running Android 1.6 and my ROOTED Nexus One is:

    Error 502 - Bad Request
The server could not resolve you request for uri: http://androidspin.com
If you connect using WiFi on your phone the error does not happen.

If you have this issues, can you please let us know so we can track down the specific locations where this is happening.

Please give us the following info:

    • Device make and model.
    • ZIP code.
    • Date you first noticed this error.
    • Other web site addresses giving the error.

I have done 2 factory resets on my Nexus One and one factory reset on my G1.
Nothing cures the problem. This is not a device related issues, this has to be a network related issues.

    Thanks

I have connected to both sites just now on my T-Mobile Nexus One (Stock, Unrooted) with no problems...

I have received no other errors from other sites either.

    zipcode: 92677

I thought positive results, and not just negative ones, may help track down the problem...

    • Nexus One (T-Mobile variety)
    • CyanogenMod 6.0.0-RC2
    • Korean Radio image
    • Over HSPA and EDGE
    • 84015 & 84075
    • 8/11/2010
    • No other tested websites throwing the error

Tried again 15 minutes later, came up just fine.

So you had the error and then 15 minutes later you didn't or you didn't have the error at all?
Sorry, just wasn't clear in this post.

Have you tried http://www.phandroid.com as well.
That's the other one that is being reported.
And it just so happens that both sites are hosted at the same location.

    G1 (SuperD)
20912 (this is where i work. I'll try again once i get home.)
    8/15/2010
Other web site addresses giving the error: http://www.phandroid.com (8/15/2010)
But the weird thing is that the rom database still works.
