bluetooth not functioning

On a G1, using the latest KenMod ROM for Android 2.2. Bluetooth does not work. The button will turn gray for a moment while it tries to click on, then go black. I tried the BT button behind BT settings and same result. I'm guessing that somehow BT did not make it on to the phone? Is there a workaround to put it on there?
