. After reading through all the 69 pages, I finally did it. This is what I did and it worked for me:
Boot into boot loader
Open command prompt
cd c:\android\tools
from phone, select recovery and press power
in command prompt, typed adb devices
I got this message:
c:\Android\tools>adb devices
List of devices attached
HT05NPS04355 offline
Then, unplugged usb and plugged back in
in command prompt, typed adb devices
I got this message:
c:\Android\tools>adb devices
List of devices attached
HT05NPS04355 recovery
then followed the tutorial from step 8 to 20.
Now I'm on my way to flash a rom!! Hopefully this help you guys as it did for me. Good Luck!!![]()

I was having the same problem with the loop to where I could only get it to show offline for a few lines, then it would disappear.
I tried this and it works great until i unplug the phone.
When I plug it back in it just disappears again instead of going to recovery.
Any ideas? it seems that my problem is getting the SDK to recognize the phone in recovery.
i tried just going to the next step a few times and doing the file push with no success, but once my dos screen gave me a whole stack of info. is this normal?
what am i messing up to not see the phone in recovery?
hi, im using this method to root a droid eris on 2.1 and im having a bit of trouble.
i am able to get up to step 5, but when i get to step 6, adb devices doesnt seem to detect my offline device. ive made sure debugging is on, and ive downloaded and updated my usb drivers. i am VERY new to all this phone stuff, so any help would be very much appreciated.
When I go into recovery and un-plug/re-plug in, the computer does not re-recognize the device. Can someone please help me get off step 7. PLEASE and thanks..
How did you guys make it recognize?
ya I'm having the same issue. It still says offline, doesn't change to recovery. Any ideas?
