1.2.2 cant install on G1

Had the same line 73 issue :

E: Can't symlink /system/xbin/bb/dirname
E: FAilure at line 73:
symlink /system/xbin/busybox SYSTEMbin/bb/dirname

I think this a loss of root problem like another install issue on here. I try to turn on USB-MS and it tells me to do so from the console.

I came from CM4.2.15.1 and wiped (fact reset, dalvik, ext) multiple times.

1.2.2 needs the "danger" Spl to fit. If you don't have that you will get a variety of errors like this.

It still is too much, it was found that OE ALMOST fits on the reg. spl. It is about 1mb too big

Thanks for the update! That kinda sucks though as I'm a little nervous about flashing Danger.

I was very nervous about the upgrade to Danger myself, but it wasn't that bad... biggest pointer on installing... be very patient! I waited and waited and then panicked.... after help from @simms22 via twitter I relaxed and just waited... took about 50 minutes on my G1 and all was good. If it helps, I posted my twitter conversation with @simms22 on my blog a few weeks ago:

50 mins? That's a long time, mine took about 10 (the longest wait is while the radio writes itself), then again this was the second phone I had done it on and I knew exactly what would happen

Ok... but where are the install instructions? I need a step by step howto. I tried installing once and bricked my G1. They sent me a replacement and don't want to do it again. I also want to take this Cliq back and get my money and upgrade back. I saw somewhere that you don't have to install the danger-spl anymore. Is this true? I installed it last time but after it installed it wouldn't get past the G1 screen.

These are the steps I plan on doing PLEASE CORRECT ME WHERE I AM WRONG:

1. Saving dreaimg.dbh, OpenEclair-v1.3.0.1-Main.zip, cm-recovery-1.4.img, and ota-radio-2_22_19_26I.zip to the root of my sd card.
2. Reboot and hold Camera + Power and let the RC29 install
3. Reboot and set up phone
4. Download telnet from the market
5. Go to homescreen and type telnetd and hit enter
6. Go to telnet program and type:
flash_image recovery /sdcard/cm-recovery-1.4.img
(I should get ** when that is done)
7. Reboot and hold Home + Power to get into recovery
8. Wipe
9. Install radio (update from any zip and choose ota...)
10. Install OpenEclair...
11. Reboot and setup phone DONE
