    Default 3rd party headset?

I am trying to find a mini-usb to 3.5mm adapter that fits my N21, but to no avail. I tried to solder a extention to my original headset, but I couldnt get it right. Anyone know of a working adapter?
Ive tried a number of HTC ones and some other usb adapters, nothing worked.. Perhaps a soldering scheme so I could make my own?

i tried headset from HTC touch too but they seems to not work with n21. Im also interested in this thread, because n21 headphones have very low volume.

The headset shipped with the N21 is worse than bad. I'm also very interested in this subject. It would be great to find a spare headset for our phone, or an USB adapter with a standard 2.5/3.5 plug on the other end so we can use any earphones with it.

my DSTL1 headset from GM somehow got damaged after a month of use... poor quality. I am also interested in a replacement if someone knows of one.

    what I tried today.
I replaced the membrane of N21 headphones with standard ones (which had very loud volume on different mp3 players i used) and tested them on N21 but the result was the same like with original membrane.
So i think the problem is in hardware or software of the phone which maybe can be fixed somehow. So even if you get adapter from micro usb to 3.5mm jack in my opinion it won't make any changes. If someone else tried something different please let us know.

well im not sure if i need to try it, because music played on back speaker is really loud and clear, the problem is only by headset with very low volume.
So if you think the hack will affect only loudness of headset i will try it out otherwise i'll look for another solution.

Btw... i remember when i had my htc touch with windows mobile i installed an app there for this same purpose (tweaking volume of the headphones)... if there's such app for android that would be great.

    Please read the thread carefully.

The apps available right now to tweak volume do not work for our device.

And the point is that we don't need an app! Volume workaround by wineleven enables to to change ALL aspects of sound by the device, NOT just the rear speaker... I imagine you could change headset volume as well as earpiece volume. (why not?)
There are more variables to tweak than just the one. Please try it out.
