Specs:http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=2133&c=saygus_vphone_v1
Camera looks the same as DSTL1 camera, and it uses Marvell PXA310 624MHz.
The i858 looks really great. But I'm afraid it won't be dualsim. I like my DSTL1 but I would certainly change the following parameters:
1) Screen - bigger and with higher resolution (320x480 at least)
2) Modern CPU with ARMv7 architecture and 3D support
3) Add GPS

Spotted also YuhuaTel "Landmark". It's Saygus Vphone V1(Also known as Verizon V1)
Not dualsim but nice specs and it can be updated to 2.1(?)
Specs here: http://www.saygus.com/vphone
Some Specs:
-Marvell Pxa310 806MHz
-256mb RAM, 512 MB ROM
-3G
-3,5 inch capacitive touch, resolution 800x480
-5MP camera with flash and second camera VGA

Geek's Phone is a nice handset. It is rooted right from the factory and has a nice slide-out keyoard. But 300 euro is a little over my budget. I got my phone for a little over half that price.

It is already possible to buy the DSTL1 on www.generalmobileshop.com (http://www.generalmobileshop.com). Price is 299,99$. It is also possible to have battery, stylus pen,... I have buyed today, I come back later to tell you my experience.
I look everywhere on the china, HK sites but it was impossible to find. I don't understand why they decide to stop the production in a so short time. Is it a google advise??

because it has no gps, no magnetic sensor, no 3g, poor battery, below average wifi, etc. What's good with the phone is the android flexibility and the support is from enthusiasts only, mostly guys here in androspin. an educated guess is that gm have found that the device can no longer earn them money, so they discontinued dstl1 to launch something new to support froyo too. As a matter of fact general mobile has done its best with dstl1 accidentally, and this is still not satisfactory. yet i love my phone :)

No need to dump anything. Here is a download link for the 2.1 pre-final. If someone has a 1.6 device and wants to load this without going to I-Mobile you have to replace the "update-validate-script" file with one from a 1.6 rom distribution. Or just edit the file with notepad++ and replace "touchstone" with "cosmos".

... I believe it's possible! New samsung galaxy 5(Runs 2.1) has also 600Mhz processor and screen resolution is lower than our. It has 128Mb RAM and we have too so certainly not performance is not a problem. :)
Also when touchstone users got 2.1 update, users said all problems are gone.

so does anybody think it works with x2 by only replacing text?
I don't mind trying this out at the expense of a sim, but will that work with our recovery? don't wanna cook the phone before someone cooks a rom :)

lots of time :(
it is cool that you are enthusiastic... but it is not easy!
this is what i have gathered from doing the same thing for X2:
You need a linux box with around 10GB free to compile Android.
You will need to pull .so files from the phone/ROM and use it for CM6.
Trial and error will guide you...
Team douche is Cyanogen devs and they are helpful if you at least pretend you know what you are talking about - otherwise they have their own lives and agendas.
Follow my Froyo development post...

This is a bad idea.... do no do it...
Remember that ROM = SYSTEM + BOOT (and in your case there seems to be RECOVERY and etc.)
There is a reason it is for touchstone...
The kernel is touchstone's...
so you will need to replace the kernel and or boot.img
If you don't heed my warning...
your best case is it won't install
your worst case is it will install and overwrite your phone's SYSTEM, BOOT, and RECOVERY: you will not have any way to boot the phone to fix it... AKA you have a new DUAL SIM paper weight

I don't believe the update rewrites the boot image. It only rewrites system, user data and recovery images.

update-validate-script -> silly validation...

That was the i858, which is now discontinued by I-Mobile. The video appears to be about six month sold. At the end of the video the guy says in Thai, "This is the i858." I-Mobile tends to order devices once and when they sell out they are gone. The stores claim corporate told them they are not getting more. The employees at the store in MBK told me the iNote will replace the i858. WFT??? A tablet is not a replacement for a phone.

It's out of stock and discontinued. I-Mobile tends to place one large order for a device and when they sell out that's it. Kind of sucks. Sold well and is a well received phone.

But that they replace i858 with a tablet, is really stupid. Myself I hate those tablet pcs like Ipad, Galaxypad etc. , they're useless because of big size, BIG price and they dont have GSM so cant make a call. When browsing chinese pads and checking the prices, they're about 150euros and with that u get 8-10 inch screen, 1GHz cpu, android 2,2, maybe gps and much more nice...
But I think the yuhua's tablet is great!

Searching the web trying to find a 2.2 rom for the Touchstone (which I do often) I came across yet another version of the I-Mobile i858 (Yuhua Touchstone) claiming to already be running Android 2.2. Now, this is not one of those Chinese reseller sites who make false claims. This looks like to be a substantial U.S. based company selling their own branded version of this device. Hopefully, this means someone will leak a 2.2 ROM for this phone soon. Check it out with photos at the link below.
